The Graduate Student Resources Flyer
The goal of the flyer was to accurately display what the Sam Houston State University Graduate and Professional School has to offer to current graduate students.
Made during a university wide rebranding, the only elements that were clear for use via our creative director were, the font (GT America), Orange/ White solid colors, and photography.
Challenges
A need to emphasize the Arleigh B. Templeton Building - as many students are unaware of the Graduate School location.
Limited colors - Only orange/ white could be included although there was a desire for blue although, no longer officially on brand
Establishing an Art Direction - that could still exist when the new university branding was implemented in Fall 2024
Direct sign-off from university Creative Director - All of which of the above needed stringent simplicity in order to align with the future creative style

Extended Specific Resource Flyers
Each flyer above expands upon resources listed with the additional Meet Dr. Falguni (the Graduate & Professional School's Associate Dean).
All of which carried elements inspired or directly derived from the original flyer layout.
Solutions
Leadership requested blue to be featured as it was a previous option under previous branding. Noting that the solid color, Royal Blue was absolutely headed out pending finalized branding, I elected to use 35mm film photos of the sky as backgrounds. This was intentional on my part due to the the grain present would match new branding material and the use of the sky would allow for approval without being too harsh or stark in nature.
This also allowed for the opportunity to include other new cool colors like teal and turquoise which I knew were a high likelihood of being included with the new branding guidelines.
Elements
The basic orange slant elements, graining photography, and white iconography made for a successful art direction.
All of which were approved with ease by the university art director and raised the bar for the Graduate and Professional School's digital/ print marketing campaigns for the 2024-2025 Academic Year.
